TOP 10 PRIME TIME TV HUNKS OF ALL TIME!

The number 1 PRIME TIME TV HUNK OF ALL TIME is…ALEX O’LOUGHLIN!! For those of you who may not know O’Loughlin (and that number is growing less daily thanks to the upcoming Hawaii Five-0) , O’Loughlin had already been known in his native Australia before he first hit American audiences on FX’s crime drama The Shield and then as the lead in the vampire drama Moonlight, which was cancelled after one season. O’Loughlin then took the lead in last fall’s CBS medical drama Three Rivers but, again, that show didn’t catch on overall with audiences and was cancelled. Alex kept busy co-starring with Jennifer Lopez in this spring’s feature film The Back-Up Plan which showed his talent for comedy and made use of his physical assets (wouldn’t you?). However, Hawaii Five-0 finds O’Loughlin playing the iconic role of Steve McGarrett (originally played by Jack Lord) and given a plum time slot (Mondays at 10, which had served super hit CSI: Miami very well) the show has everything going for it, including great co-stars in Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim (someone else who almost made this list!) and BSG’s Grace Park. Time will tell how big of a hit the new show is but my prediction is that Alex O’Loughlin will be an American household name in no time…his fans (who voted daily in droves) have known all this for a loooooooong time.  Congrats, Alex! Bravo picks up ‘Hawaii Five-O’ UK rights

Bravo has acquired the UK rights to the upcoming remake of Hawaii Five-O.

According to The Guardian, the channel bought the exclusive pay-TV, Freeview and digital rights.

The show, which was picked up by CBS in the US, focuses on police officers working in Hawaii. The cast includes Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park.

Virgin Media TV’s head of acquisitions Amy Barham said: “Hawaii Five-O was the standout show at this year’s LA screenings and securing it exclusively for UK audiences demonstrates yet again Bravo’s commitment to owning the very best in primetime US dramas.”

The series is expected to premiere in the US and the UK in the autumn. [SOURCE]

O’Loughlin excited for Moonlight rebirth

Alex O’Loughlin has become a regular presence on TV screens with work on The Shield, Moonlight and Three Rivers — and this fall he’ll star in a remake of Hawaii 5-0.

Recently seen in theaters opposite Jennifer Lopez in the romantic comedy The Back-up Plan, the Australian actor returns to the small screen this summer as The CW resurrects all 16 episodes of Moonlight, in which he plays a sexy, do-gooding vampire detective.

Q. Moonlight was originally canceled by CBS in 2008. Are you tired of getting questions about vampires?

A. No, I love vampires. I did Moonlight because I love the genre and because I really believed in the show, and I will always love the genre. I think it’s the coolest. I would totally play a vampire again — if it was the right thing. I’ll never be sick of vampires.

Q. Your character is a conscientious bloodsucker. Do you have a preference between playing heroes or villains?

A. It feels to me like — and this isn’t to say that I’ve ever done anything clever or talented in my career yet — but I feel like when I’m playing a villain, I can get away with a lot more. You go, “Hey, listen, what if this guy had a tattoo on his face?” And the director’s like, “Yeah! That’s f—ing evil!” But as the hero, you’re like, “Hey, can we …?” “No! You’re the hero. Just look and smile.” [SOURCE]
